Can a reminder wake me like an alarm clock?
Yes, on Android and on iOS 26 and later. The first person’s reminder is a real alarm set on their phone, and it keeps ringing every 2, 5 or 10 minutes.
An ordinary notification is easy to miss: a face-down phone, a silent switch, sleep. On Android and on iOS 26 and later, Ok Donkey sets a real alarm on the first person’s phone, and it keeps ringing until the job is done.
Notifications are meant to be easy to ignore. That is right for most apps and wrong for the medicine, the flight, or the school run.
On iOS 26 and later, the reminder rings on Apple’s alarm screen, over the lock screen. Stop silences it. The nag keeps going until someone taps Done. On iOS 18 to 25 it arrives as a notification instead, which the silent switch and Focus can mute.

The reminder rings as an alarm on the phone. Tap Done on the alarm itself, or Doing it now if you made that the big button. Done reaches the others straight away, so their alarms stop, even with the app closed.
It is scheduled on the device, so it rings even without a signal. The later nagging of everyone else goes through a push notification from the server.
Each time it opens, the app checks the permissions alarms need, and asks again if one was switched off. If you are signed out, reminders already on the phone keep ringing.
A home-screen widget on iPhone and Android shows the next things you can mark done, each with its own Done button. A nudge or missed email has an It’s done button as well.

The reminders you create all ring. You choose the ring interval, and the grace window before others are called in.
A reminder app. It is one job: a shared task, the people on it, and one tap that closes it for everyone.
The reminder rings on its own clock for everyone. Each person also sees it on their own clock, and the owner is asked once if it would ring at night for someone.
Ok Donkey is free, with no adverts and no tracking. Set one reminder, share it with one person, and see how it goes.
Ok Donkey is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. A missed alert can still happen. Do not use it as the only reminder where a miss could cause harm.
