Apple Reminders is already on the iPhone, and a shared list is a lovely simple way for a family to see the same jobs. You can assign a person, repeat a reminder, and when someone completes it the list updates for everyone. For a lot of evenings, that is plenty.
The gap shows up when the notification is swiped away and the job is still undone. Reminders gives you an alert. It can sit on the lock screen. It does not re-alert every couple of minutes, and it does not nag the next person because the first one went quiet. It is also Apple only. Ok Donkey is coming to iPhone and Android, and the escalation is the point.
Choose Apple Reminders if
Everyone is on Apple, the shared list is enough, and one alert does the job. Reminders is already there, and it costs nothing extra.

A dose in the evening
A shared reminder can ping at the right time and wait on the lock screen until someone ticks it. Ok Donkey keeps re-alerting until the event is marked done. If the first person does not finish it, the others on the event are alerted too. It is still only a reminder, not a medical device.
Questions
Does Apple Reminders keep alerting until you mark it done?
No. It notifies you, and a shared reminder can stay visible until it is completed. It does not re-alert on a short interval the way Ok Donkey does.
Does completing a shared reminder close it for everyone?
Yes. On a shared list, one person completing the reminder updates it for the people on that list. Ok Donkey does the same for its alert: one Done closes it for the group.
Can Android users join an Apple Reminder?
Apple Reminders stays on Apple devices. Ok Donkey is being built for iPhone and Android, and it is not in either store yet.
